The National Chapter Award Program is designed to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization. These chapters improve chapter operations using the National Quality Chapter Standards (NQCS) and a Program of Activities (POA) that emphasize growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture.
Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership. In order to qualify for a state or national award, the chapter must complete at least 15 activities: one for each of the five quality standards in each of the three divisions.
At the state level, National Chapter Applications are ranked first through tenth place, and are given a 1, 2, or 3-star rating. Only high-quality applications move on the national level.
At the national level, National Chapter Applications are given a 1, 2, or 3-star rating. Ten chapters with the best event in each of the three committee areas (growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture) are recognized as Premier Chapters and compete at the national convention for a spot as the top premier chapter in their respective areas. The ten chapters with the highest overall National Chapter Application scores are recognized as Model of Excellence chapters, with one chapter being selected as the national champion.
American Falls FFA is one of two Idaho FFA chapters that have received recognition in both the Premier Chapter area and Model of Excellence area. Chapter FFA Officers typically complete the application on behalf of the entire chapter. Talk to an advisor if you are interested in becoming part of American Falls' National Chapter Award legacy!
