Began Teaching: 1983
College: M.S. Agricultural Education, University of Idaho, 1987; B.S. Agricultural Education, University of Idaho, 1984; B.S. in Range and Livestock Management, University of Idaho, 1938
FFA Experience: I was not in FFA while I was in high school at Highland in Pocatello. While in college I met a teacher who changed the course of my life, Dr. Lou Riesenberg. He asked me one day in class what I planned to do when I graduated from college. I told him I was going back to Nevada and manage a ranch in Elko county. He asked then, "Do you think that is true the extent of your potential? Why not become a teacher and build the future?" In the fall of 1982 I added Agriculture Education to my program of study. I student taught at Deary High School with Buddy Carter. I then taught at Raft River High School from 1984 until 1990. In 1990 I was contacted by the American Falls School District and asked to start an Agricultural Education program here. And, so it began. For someone who was never going to be a teacher I will say I don't regret for a minute the choice I made. Today, I cannot imagine doing anything else.
